LOS ANGELES : Roseanne Arnold Sued by Former Manager
Roseanne Arnold’s former manager has filed a $40-million lawsuit against her former employer, saying the actress fired her without justification and then defamed her in the recent autobiography, “My Lives.â€
Arlyne Rothberg, who said she represented Arnold exclusively from 1988 until the actress’s marriage to Tom Arnold in 1990, said in the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit filed Tuesday that “My Lives†contained passages in which Arnold accused Rothberg and others of claiming they “created†her and are growing “fatter and fatter off my sweat.â€
Rothberg also said the book contained another passage that indicated that she was busy planning her own career instead of looking after Arnold’s.
She added that the offending passages had damaged her reputation and her business.
Arnold and her spokespersons could not be reached for comment.
