The Kentucky Shooting Area off of Angeles Forest Highway in the Tujunga ranger district will be closed to the public from May 2 through May 4, U. S. Forest Service officials have announced.
The closure, to take effect at 4:30 p.m. on May 2, is needed so officials can conduct a site inventory that will be part of an environmental assessment.
Foresters said the horse shooting area near Wrightwood and “A Place to Shoot” on San Francisquito Canyon Road in the Saugus ranger district are recommended alternatives for those who want to shoot during the closure.
Those desiring more information on the closure or other alternative areas are asked to contact the Tujunga ranger station at (818) 899 1900 or Angeles forest headquarters at 574-5200.
