* Gina M. Shauer was named chief financial officer at the Right Start Inc. The post had been held by Lenny Targon, who remains the company’s chief executive officer. Previously, Shauer was a senior manager for Price Waterhouse in Woodland Hills. The Right Start is a Westlake Village-based children’s specialty retailer.
* IricBrowndorf was named vice president of manufacturing and sourcing at Cherokee Apparel, a Sunland-based maker of women’s clothes and shoes. Previously, he was vice president of manufacturing and sourcing for Tomato Inc. He was also managing director for the Hong Kong office of apparel maker Members Only.
* Pinkerton’s Inc. in Encino said Denis R. Brown has been elected as the company’s president and chief executive officer, succeeding Thomas W. Wathen, 64, who will continue as chairman of the board.
Brown, 54, was recently chairman and chief executive officer of Concurrent Computer Corp. in Ocean Port, N. J. Before that, he was president and chief executive officer of Penn Central Industries Group, and he also spent 15 years with ITT Corp. Brown is a graduate of UC Berkeley.
