NEW YORK — Major U.S. financial markets will close Wednesday as the nation observes a day of mourning for former President Richard M. Nixon.
The New York Stock Exchange, American Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, regional stock exchanges and commodities markets will close. Bond markets were expected to close, while banks and currency brokers are expected to conduct limited foreign exchange trading.
The Treasury Department said it will postpone its auction of five-year notes from Wednesday until Thursday.
