Volunteers are needed at the Carl Bean AIDS Care Center, 2146 W. Adams Blvd.
People of all ages are needed to serve as helpers and act as companions to hospice residents. Volunteers will be taught how to interact with and assist terminally ill clients. Volunteers are also needed to assist with office and administrative work, and help with kitchen duties.
The center is a 25-bed residential facility for people with AIDS. It is a program of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides health and hospice care for people with HIV and AIDS, regardless of individual ability to pay.
