Anaheim Firm Plans Wireless Line of Products
ANAHEIM — Home Theater Products International, which makes and sells consumer electronic products, said Wednesday it will introduce a line of wireless audio, video and multimedia products during the third quarter.
The company, which specializes in home surround-sound systems, said it will be the first to offer a complete home theater system using infrared and 900 MHz technology in its components and not as accessories. Infrared technology, now used in fiber optic data communication and TV remote controls, is more reliable than conventional technology, the company said, and use of radio frequency bands in the 900 MHz range can result in more accurate transmissions with less interference.
The company, based in Anaheim, reported earnings of $700,000 on sales of $8.1 million for its latest quarter.
