‘Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey’
This 1993 Disney release is a fine family film, a vast improvement over the 1963 version. This time, the tale of three pets who make their way through a forest wilderness provides voices for a wise and mature golden retriever, a frisky bulldog puppy and a fastidious Himalayan cat. And it involves the family, who left them behind temporarily with a friend. A skillful job all around, especially by director Duwayne Dunham and writers Caroline Thompson and Linda Woolverton. Robert Hays and Kim Greist star (Disney Channel Monday at 1:05 a.m.).
