COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL : Top Teams in UCLA Tournament

The UCLA men’s volleyball tournament, which begins tonight at Pauley Pavilion, will feature four teams ranked among the top 14 in the nation.
Fourth-ranked USC will play No. 14 Loyola Marymount at 5, and top-ranked UCLA will face sixth-ranked Cal State Northridge at 7.
UCLA’s semifinal against Northridge (14-8) is the only match in the tournament that will count as a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match. The Bruins (20-1) are led by Jeff Nygaard, whose averages of 1.94 blocks and 7.11 kills a game rank him second and third, respectively, in the nation.
The third-place match will be held at 5 Saturday, followed by the championship match at 7:30.
