RANCHO PARK : Guard Dies of Wounds From Bank Robbery
A gunman fatally wounded a security guard last week during a robbery at the California Federal Bank on Pico Boulevard, authorities said.
The gunman fled after the 12:42 p.m. robbery Friday at 10680 W. Pico Blvd., FBI spokesman Ron Twersky said. The guard, who was wounded in the chest, died Friday at Century City Hospital, Twersky said.
The gunman entered the bank, confronted two tellers and demanded an undisclosed amount of money, Twersky said. He fled to the front of the bank, where he confronted the guard and shot him before leaving.
