OroAmerica Inc., a Burbank manufacturer and distributor of jewelry, said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit surged 71%, to $3.41 million from $2 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
For the three months ended Jan. 28, the company’s revenue increased 3%, to $62.3 million from $60.5 million. The company attributed the strong earnings results to increased business with big retailers, such as Wal-Mart, and getting a better handle on its costs.
For its fiscal year ended Jan. 28, OroAmerica’s profit doubled, to $8.2 million from $4.02 million a year earlier. Revenue in the latest fiscal year totaled $203.4 million, up 16% from $176.1 million in its previous fiscal year.
