OC HIGH: STUDENT NEWS & VIEWS : Uphill Battle
Recycling is taking a beating at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, with banana peels and Kleenex often in the red-colored recycling bins and aluminum cans in trash bins, according to article in the student newspaper, the CVHS Times.
“In my opinion, students are lazy. They don’t want to walk a few feet further to a recycling bin,†one student said. “The way it is now, the janitors spend their valuable time playing mommy,†another said about the need to pick up student messes.
The Environmental Club is urging students to take care of the campus, but it may be an uphill battle. “If it wasn’t for my throwing trash, (the janitors) wouldn’t have a job,†one student said.
