Israel, Guerrillas Clash in Southern Lebanon
Associated Press
MARJAYOUN, Lebanon — Israeli warplanes attacked hilltop bases of Lebanese guerrillas on Wednesday, in the latest clash in nearly two months of heightened tension in southern Lebanon.
The strike on Hezbollah positions in the hills of Iqlim el Tuffah came hours after guerrillas fired three rockets into an Israeli-held enclave in southern Lebanon.
There were no reports of casualties from either attack, security sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Four Israeli soldiers and seven guerrillas have died this year in similar clashes.
