GOLDEN SEATS: For her upcoming singing appearances at Anaheim Arena, Barbra Streisand is letting several charity groups each buy 250 “Golden Circle†tickets to resell for their own fund raising. One of them is the Alliance for Children’s Rights, based in Los Angeles. Its spokesman, Jeffrey Schwartz, calls it “a fantastic opportunity.†. . . Adds Schwartz: “We still have to pay $350 for each ticket, but we’re selling them for $1,000 each, so we’ll make a very nice profit.†Scalper prices for Golden Circle tickets, he predicts, will go well above $1,000.

DEAN OF BOOKS: Books of all kinds can become collector’s items, but fantasy and horror are areas of particular interest. (OC Live!) One of the most collectible authors in those genres is Dean Koontz of Newport Beach. First editions of some of his books, such as “Phantoms†and “Whispers,†can sell for $300 and up. . . . “He’s by far the biggest author in Orange County†among collectors, says James Cahill, of Cahill’s Book Store in Fountain Valley. Nationally, “he’s not quite as big as Stephen King, but he’s close.â€

HIS INSPIRATION: Roxie Campanella did not get the publicity of her late husband, Roy, the Hall of Fame catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. But family friends credit her for being the inspiration for her husband, always at his side after his career was cut short when a car accident left him paralyzed. . . . Now she’s in the spotlight herself. She’ll be the speaker at the Anaheim Family YMCA’s Good Friday services at the Anaheim Convention Center.

BREN BUCKS: Irvine Co. Chairman Donald Bren, a reclusive sort rarely seen or heard in public, lets his money do the talking when it comes to politics. Bren recently ponied up $50,000 to the campaign of Gov. Pete Wilson, a longtime chum. The cash accompanies another $50,000 the Irvine Co. has donated to the governor. . . . Such generosity isn’t new for Bren. The developer has been helping Wilson since 1975, and hosted a fund-raiser for him in 1989 that brought in $86,200.
