Injunction Against Defunct Firm Won’t Affect 2nd Company
A federal judge has determined that an injunction against Turcal Inc., a defunct Fountain Valley telemarketing company, does not apply to Resort Condo Marketing Inc., lawyers in the case said Wednesday.
U.S. District Judge A. Wallace Tashima in Los Angeles clarified in court that the La Jolla company is not a defendant in the fraud lawsuit brought against Turcal by the Federal Trade Commission, lawyers for the FTC and Resort Condo said.
The issue was complicated because Resort Condo was an agent for Turcal in 1992, and the FTC had sued Turcal as a company doing business under three names, including that of Resort Condo Marketing.
Resort Condo is a separate company that is still operating. The FTC closed Turcal earlier this month.
