U.S. Official to Inspect Wetlands, Open Areas
Assistant Secretary of the Interior George Frampton will visit the South Bay on Wednesday.
Frampton will tour several open areas and the Ballona Wetlands, accompanied by Rep. Jane Harman (D-Marina del Rey).
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy will show Frampton open space on the peninsula at Portuguese Bend before a visit to Catalina Island.
Conservancy Vice President Mike Kilroy said Frampton also will visit the Ballona Wetlands, about 200 acres on Jefferson Boulevard next to a planned housing development at Playa Vista.
