BRIEFLY : Government: 2 Westsiders Are Appointed to County Commissions

Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke has named two Westside residents to county commissions.
Aurelia Roberts Brooks, chief executive officer of the California Afro-American Museum and a Los Angeles resident, has been appointed to the Music and Performing Arts Commission.
Brooks has developed exhibitions, lectures and dance performances at the museum. A graduate of Howard University and California State University at Los Angeles, she studied at UCLA’s Museum Management Institute. She is also an active member of the Arts Consortium and American Assn. of Museums.
Diane Renk has been appointed to the Mental Health Commission.
Renk, a former nurse, holds master’s and doctorate degrees in psychology. The West Los Angeles resident is also a member of the Beverlywood Homeowners Assn. and the American Psychological Assn.
