A 20-year-old Long Beach man was fatally shot here early Sunday as he and friends argued with people in a passing car, police said.
Police identified the victim as Gamliel Serrano, 20.
Lt. Robert Helton said no suspects have been arrested, and police have not released a description of the suspects’ car.
The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of South Bristol Street shortly after midnight Saturday, Helton said. During an argument between two carloads of young people, Serrano was shot once in the upper body.
Serrano’s friends flagged down a police officer, Helton said. The officer took Serrano to nearby Coastal Communities Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
