Rockwell International Corp.: The Seal Beach firm said Tuesday that Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Air Canada Corp. have placed orders for communications equipment with its Collins Commercial Avionics unit.
Rockwell said its Collins unit, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will deliver more than 100 satellite communications systems for jet aircraft to the two airlines starting later this year.
The Satcom-906 systems provide six full channels for passenger telephone, facsimile and personal-computer links, as well as cockpit voice and data transmission.
