BUENA PARK : Library Board Is Seeking New Trustee

A 13-year trustee on the five-member Buena Park Library District board has resigned, and the board is looking for someone to fill the vacancy.
Trustee Bill Hardin, 81, resigned for personal reasons, he said.
“I felt it was time to get out,” said Hardin, a board member since November, 1981.
The person chosen to replace Hardin will complete Hardin’s term, which expires in November. The new board member will have to run for office in November to retain the seat for another four-year term.
Trustees are expected to interview candidates at the April 6 meeting and make an appointment at that time.
Hardin, a retired printer, said he is planning to move from the city. He and his wife, Jennie, who will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in April, also plan to travel.
People interested in Hardin’s job are required to mail a resume by March 14 to the library, 7150 La Palma Ave. Candidates must be 18 years old or older, a resident of Buena Park and a registered voter in the district.
More information is available by calling the city library at (714) 826-4100.
