Rostenkowski Pays Up to Salvage Integrity

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dan Rostenkowski (D-Ill.) repaid the House nearly $82,000 for office equipment, saying he would err “on the side of reimbursing the government” rather than have his integrity doubted.
The office and campaign spending of the Hosue Ways and Means Committee chairman are being investigated by a federal grand jury.
