EAST LOS ANGELES : 2 Receive Honors at Valentine Gala

El Centro Mental Health and Human Services Corp. honored businesswoman Priscilla Lizarraga and broadcaster Henry Alfaro with El Corazon de la Vida Awards on Thursday at its second annual Gala Valentine’s Ball.
“Throughout the years, there have been people who have helped not only El Centro, but the community,” said Genevieve Gomez Lopez, director of community outreach services and the event coordinator.
Lizarraga, president of the Daikonia Associates catering business, is a member of the auxiliary group Friends of El Centro and has helped refurbish the children’s room at the main facility.
Alfaro has hosted El Centro fund-raisers over the last 10 years, Lopez said.
