San Fernando Girls Rally, Fall Short

Trailing by nine points at the outset of the fourth quarter, the San Fernando High girls’ basketball team rallied, pulling to within one with 34 seconds remaining, but host Cleveland held off the late charge and prevailed, 39-36, Friday night.
Cleveland (4-7, 2-2) managed to take all but two seconds off the clock at the end of the Tiger rally, then Teresa McGuire (10 points) scored a basket to ice the victory.
Cleveland’s Ember Truesdell had a triple-double, scoring 13 points to go with 10 rebounds and 10 steals.
San Fernando’s Martha Guillary led all scorers with 17 points.
