Judgment Against Animal Group Voided

CARSON CITY, Nev. — A $4.2-million judgment against animal rights activists was overturned Thursday when the Nevada Supreme Court ruled against a Las Vegas entertainer.
Bobby Berosini charged that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) defamed him by secretly filming him beating his orangutans backstage at the Stardust Hotel, then releasing the tape to the media.
But on a 4-0 vote, justices ruled the tape accurately portrayed the way Berosini disciplined his animals and PETA had a right to express an opinion on whether he was being cruel to them.
