But he soon fell into the freezing water of Lake Jackson, near Wrightwood, prompting his mother to frantically run onto the thin ice after him. She, too, plunged into the water. . . . OFF-ROAD DUSTUP: Motocross fans have their hearts set on an off-road vehicle park being built in rugged Baker and Hume canyons in Santa Clarita. PARTY SHOOTING: A 17-year-old alleged gang member was shot in the head by a state prison officer during a gun battle at a late-night Pacoima party.
