WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : USC Rallies Behind Atwater

Reserve Tracy Atwater scored 10 of her 15 points in the second half as No. 10-ranked USC rallied for a 63-56 victory over Oregon State on Thursday night at Corvallis, Ore., in the Pacific 10 Conference opener for both teams.
The Trojans, 8-1 overall and 1-0 in the Pac-10, trailed, 50-41, with 7:55 to play, but went on a 22-6 run to clinch the victory.
Lisa Leslie had 13 points and 14 rebounds in only 28 minutes as she got into early foul trouble.
Oregon State is 8-3 and 0-1.
Oregon 82, UCLA 77--The Bruins rallied from a 13-point deficit to get within one, but failed to overtake the Ducks at Eugene, Ore.
Natalie Williams led UCLA (5-5, 0-1) with 18 points and Allison Arredondo matched a career high with 17 points, including five three-pointers.
Oregon (7-3, 1-0) was led by Debbie Sporcich with 24 points and 16 rebounds.
