Hart 67, Saugus 24--The Indians held Saugus to two points in the first quarter in a Foothill League game at Newhall. Hart (11-6, 3-0) was led by LaCresha Clark and Melissa Dunkerley, who each scored 14 points.
Newbury Park 64, Agoura 42--Amy Berman scored 14 points to lead the Panthers (11-2, 2-0) in a Marmonte League game.
Alemany 56, Bishop Montgomery 42--Carly Funicello scored 18 points and Samantha Wrigley added 11 to lead the visiting Indians (13-0, 2-0) to a Mission League victory.
Buena 78, San Marcos 19--Michelle Giordano scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Buena’s rout in a Channel League game at San Marcos.
Thousand Oaks 54, Westlake 35--Nicki LaSala scored 17 points and Sara Simimi added 11 to lead the Lancers (10-4, 2-1) in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.
WOMEN
Loyola Marymount 79, Cal State Northridge 52--Sheri Brown scored 22 points to help host Loyola (4-8) overcome 27 turnovers as CSUN (1-11) lost its eighth in a row.
Ventura 69, Valley 52--Julie Hardy scored 18 of her 24 points in the second half to lead the Pirates (12-4, 2-0) to a come-from-behind victory in a Western State interconference game at Ventura.
The Pirates trailed, 30-29, at halftime, but Hardy, who was 15 of 17 free throws, helped Ventura outscore Valley, 40-22, in the second half.
Moorpark 57, Pierce 56--The Raiders (5-10) led by 16 points in the second half, then got a scare at the end from the Brahmas (2-11). Pierce’s Michelle Brewer missed a shot with the score tied, 56-56, and Andrea Knox, who was fouled while rebounding, made one of two free throws to win it.
BOYS
Hart 34, Saugus 28--Brian Ballew’s two three-pointers in the fourth quarter helped the Indians rally in a Foothill League game at Saugus.
The Indians (16-1, 3-0) outscored Saugus, 14-6, in the final quarter, taking the lead for good with four minutes remaining.
Canyon 86, Burroughs 56--Charles Woodard scored 33 points and Greg Minor added 32 to lead the Cowboys (13-4, 3-0) in a Foothill League game at Burroughs. Jess Rowland led Burroughs with 19 points.
