4 Pace Club Outlets to Become Sam’s Club Stores in January
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will convert four Pace Club membership warehouse stores in Orange County to Sam’s Club warehouse stores early in January, the company said.
The four stores to be converted will become the first Sam’s Club warehouse stores in the county.
The Pace store in Irvine will be closed Monday and Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday. The Stanton and Fullerton stores will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and will reopen Jan. 7. The Fountain Valley store will be closed Jan. 7 and 8 and will reopen Jan. 9.
“There will be sign changes outside and some changes inside,†said Sam’s Club spokesman Mike Simpfenderfer. “The bottom line for consumers is that prices are going to go down.â€
Wal-Mart acquired 91 Pace stores around the country from K mart Corp. in November and plans to convert them into Sam’s Club stores.
