Burlage Named CEO of Live Entertainment

Roger Burlage has been named chief executive and president of Live Entertainment, a video distributor that also owns two music retailing chains. In addition, Burlage will serve on the video distribution firm’s board. Previously, Burlage served for four years as president and chief executive of Trimark Holdings Inc. Before that, he worked at New World Pictures, Avco Corp. and Avco Embassy Pictures. Trimark Chairman Mark Amin will temporarily assume Burlage’s duties. Trimark produces, distributes and licenses motion pictures for the international and domestic markets.

Warner Bros.’ consumer products licensing division has appointed three new vice presidents. Michael D. Harkavy has been named vice president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Publishing. In his newly created position, Harkavy will direct all publishing activities for Warner Bros. and supervise entry into new publishing genres. Mary Moebus Yedlin has been named vice president of marketing for DC Comics and theatrical properties. Gary R. Simon has been named vice president of legal affairs.

Ken Raskoff has joined Four Point Entertainment as vice president of long form and movies for television.

KCOP-TV has hired Bishop Ellison as chief engineer. Previously, Ellison was district sales manager at Harris Broadcast in Quincy, Ill.

Greg Harper has been named president of the technology group at New York-based ACTV, where he will be responsible for the company’s technical dealings with cable TV and long-distance learning networks.
