Rounding the corner into 1994, we bring you today a colorful and thoughtful Year in Review on pages B2 and B3.

Staff writer Gary Gorman’s essay reminds us what 1993 held for Ventura County, while it offers insight into what we can expect in the new year.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank the hundreds and hundreds of people who have talked to our reporters and sat patiently for our photographers during this past year. I also want to thank those who have called in news tips and written letters to the editor.

By sharing their insights and expertise, by telling us their own stories, they have helped us to tell Ventura County’s story.

In the coming year, The Times staff will again bring you the wide spectrum of events that will shape our lives in this dynamic section of Southern California.
