SEASON AT A GLANCE: James, a 5-foot-10 forward, was a Times’ All-Valley selection last season as a freshman. She leads the Crusaders (11-0) in scoring and rebounding, averaging 19.6 points and 11.1 rebounds. She also has made 14 of 22 three-point shots.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: James led the Crusaders to the San Luis Obispo tournament championship last week. In three tournament games, she averaged 19 points and 11.7 rebounds. In the first-round game against Paso Robles, she had 14 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and six steals. But she saved her best for last, getting 25 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-55 victory over Crescenta Valley in the championship game. “She’s just a sophomore,” Village Christian Coach John Domke said. “It’s incredible--a coach’s dream.”
