Czingula, Richards Lead Estancia to Title

COSTA MESA — Estancia’s press was effective, and the Eagles got strong inside play from Laura Czingula and Cyndi Richards, to win its tournament with a 59-46 victory over Corona del Mar.
Richards scored 19 and Czingula, the tournament’s most valuable player, scored 17 for Estancia (8-1). Joining them on the all-tournament team was Jessica Waltz, who scored six.
The Eagles scored the first 10 points of the third quarter, stretching their lead to 25.
Corona del Mar (4-2) got 12 from Rosalie Kane and 11 from Ashley Conover. Lindsay Warmington had 10, and Sara Amoli added six. Amoli and Kane, who had 11 rebounds, were all-tournament selections.
“They’re good,” Corona del Mar Coach Garth Flint said of Estancia. “What I don’t know is how good we are.”
