1992-93: 14-3-8, 10-1-3 in the Sea View League; lost in the first round of the Division I playoffs to top-seeded Torrance, 1-0, in overtime.
Key returners: Tiffany Blackburn, Jr., goakeeper; Beth Brown, Jr., defender, first-team all-league; Tiffany Brown, Sr., defender, first-team all-league, second-team all-section; Erica DeVitis, Jr., midfielder, first-team all-league; Jaimie Hannefield, Sr., defender; Annie Luke, So., forward, first-team all-league; Jenna Zanotti, Jr., midfielder.
Key newcomers: Lisa Asturias, Jr., forward; Erin Beattie, So., defender; Erin McIntyre, Fr., midfielder; Riki-Ann Serrins, Fr., goalkeeper; Maressa Zanetti, Fr., defender.
Outlook: Santa Margarita was ranked sixth in Orange County in the preseason coaches’ poll, but Elfman says Irvine is the team to beat in the Sea View League. Tiffany Brown is the Eagles’ catalyst from her stopper position; she had 19 assists last season. DeVitis had seven goals and 21 assists last year, and Luke set the school scoring record with 11.
