OUTLOOK
The good news is Garcia will have players who actually have some experience. And unlike last season, when she literally had to go out on campus and recruit, she has enough players coming out this year to make up a team. “Teamwork is our strength, experience our weakness and an improved record is our goal,†said Garcia, who will be starting her second year as coach. Last season, Bethel Christian finished 2-18, so as Garcia looks at it, there’s only one place this team can go, and that’s up. Like last year, Garcia said the team still needs lots of work on the basics, so she plans to spend a lot of time on drills. There are some fine athletes on the team, she said, and she hopes the learning process is easy. “These girls show that love for the game,†Garcia said. “Playing with heart is not an attribute restricted to college or career athletes only.â€
