Janss Mall Planning $30-Million Expansion
The owner of Janss Mall in Thousand Oaks is planning a $30-million expansion and renovation that could add a Mervyn’s department store and other well-known retailers to the center.
Bill Janss, president of Janss Corp., said he is negotiating with Mervyn’s and other prospective new tenants, including a Good Guys electronic store, a Wherehouse record store and a Barnes & Noble bookstore.
In addition, Janss hopes to add a nine-screen Mann movie theater complex to the mall at Hillcrest and Moorpark roads.
Janss hopes to have the expansion completed by June, 1995. He said the number of stores in the center will increase to about 56 from the current 40.
