RETAIL : Baby Boomer Parents Drive Booming Sales of Great Toys From the Past

For many Orange County children, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas past.
Erector sets, popular with the moms and dads of today’s kids, are at the top of the list among parents shopping this season at Westminster Mall, Marketing Director Kim Facas said. Close behind are Barbie dolls, Matchbox cars, downsized toy kitchen appliances and board games, including Monopoly, Clue, and Chutes and Ladders.
“Baby Boomers want their kids to have the same toys they had,†Facas said.
