* I want to extend my sincere appreciation for the public’s support and cooperation during the recent Ortega fire. With fires raging throughout Southern California, firefighters were mobilized from all areas of the western United States.
Without your cooperation and assistance, losses from the fire could have been much higher. I particularly appreciate people’s patience and understanding while the Ortega Highway was closed.
Rehabilitation work that will help stabilize the fire area and allow it to recover is currently underway. I will keep you informed about the progress of this work in the coming weeks.
