OC HIGH / Student News and Views : Tough Audition

More than 100 Orange County students in ninth through 12th grade are auditioning for the sixth annual L.A. Music Center spotlight awards. The competition includes a series of auditions and master classes in the fields of ballet, modern dance, opera, musical theater vocal, classical and jazz instrumental music. Semi-finalists go on to train with members of the Music Center resident companies. Finalists will receive $5,000 and be showcased at a March performance in Los Angeles. More than 600 Southern California students are vying for the awards.
