Irvine Medical Laser Firm Posts 3rd-Quarter Loss

Advanced Interventional Systems, the Irvine medical laser company, said it lost $2.3 million, or 23 cents a share, for the third quarter. That compared to a loss of $2 million, or 21 cents a share, for the same period in 1992.
Revenue declined 14% to $3 million from $3.5 million. The year-to-date loss totaled $8.6 million, or 86 cents a share, compared to a year-earlier loss of $3.4 million, or 36 cents a share. Nine-month revenue dropped 7% to $9.9 million from $10.6 million.
