Zenith National Posts Sharp Rise in Profits

Zenith National Insurance Corp., a Woodland Hills property, casualty, life and health insurance company, reported a sharp rise in its third-quarter profits.
In the latest three months, Zenith earned $13.5 million, compared with a $2.73 million profit a year before. Its revenue rose 6%, to $149.1 million from $141.1 million.
For the nine months, the company had a profit of $41.2 million, a 36% gain from net income of $30.2 million in the same period in 1992. Its nine-month revenue was $441.9 million, up 8% from $407.5 million.
