Tigers Sign Davis to $3-Million Deal

DETROIT — Former Dodger outfielder Eric Davis and the Detroit Tigers agreed Monday to a $3-million, one-year contract, an increase of $1 million from his 1993 salary.
Davis, 31, was traded from the Dodgers to the Tigers in August. He played 23 games with Detroit, hitting .253 with six home runs and 15 runs batted in.
“In the month he played for us, Eric Davis showed why he was considered one of the National League’s most explosive players,” Tiger General Manager Jerry Walker said.
His 1993 contract called for $1 million guaranteed. He also earned $1 million in bonuses based on roster time.
