Violent TV Sports, Toys, Games
With all the hoopla being focused on violence on television, hopefully the end result will include no televised boxing, football, hockey, wrestling and those horrible “gladiator-type†competitions.
What has surprised me is that the anti-violence campaign has not been directed at either video games or toy manufacturers ... both having their own special line of violence.

The ‘School’ Subject Was Lesbians
How dare CBS give us garbage for a “CBS Schoolbreak Special†(“Other Mothers,†Oct. 12). Just reading the article in TV Times (Oct. 10) sickened me. It’s not the media’s or networks’ job to push its immoral viewpoint on our children. (Meredith) Baxter’s comments on helping relieve fear and prejudice are just an easy way for Hollywood to do anything immoral it wants without feeling it is wrong. Go ahead, CBS, encourage the gay lifestyle. We won’t be watching your network for a good long time. Guess you’d say we’re prejudiced against immorality.

In my opinion, it was very poor judgment in CBS’ choice of time slots for the program “CBS Schoolbreak Special†and the use of Meredith Baxter as a spokeswoman. Given her value structure, it saddens me to know that she is a mother in real life.
