CROSS-COUNTRY ROUNDUP
In Sea View League girls’ cross-country:
Corbin sets record--Irvine’s Jessica Corbin smashed a 10-year-old course record, running 17:08 for three miles at Heritage Park in a triple-dual meet.
The old record of 17:36 was set by former Irvine High and UCLA star Laura Chapel.
Tracy Clark finished second for Corona del Mar in 17:55. Erin Livermore of Irvine was third, a second behind.
The team scores were Corona del Mar 27, Irvine 28; Irvine 23, Newport Harbor 33, and Corona del Mar 22, Newport Harbor 33.
In Sea View boys’ cross-country: Corona del Mar 15, Irvine 50; Newport Harbor 15, Irvine 50; Corona del Mar 29, Newport Harbor 27--Trent Bryson finished first, covering the three-mile course in 15:09.
