Cable TV Rate Increases Investigated: The Federal Communications Commission said it will attempt to determine why a third of cable TV subscribers are paying higher fees since regulations intended to reduce rates were put into effect. The first survey, covering 8 million of approximately 58 million cable subscribers nationwide, looked at how cable rates have gone up for about 32% of subscribers and dropped for about 68% of them. The findings revealed that the average monthly service bill has declined by about 8%, or $2. To request a complaint form, consumers may call the FCC’s cable division at (202) 416-0903.
