Fire Destroys Unit
TUJUNGA — Firefighters battled a blaze that consumed one apartment in a vacant two-story building in the 10040 block of Pinewood Avenue Sunday night, authorities said.
About 30 firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department battled the blaze, which began shortly before 8 p.m., said spokesman Bob Collis. The blaze was controlled by firefighters within 20 minutes, Collis said.
There was no estimate of a monetary loss because it is believed that it is scheduled for demolition, Collis said.
No one was injured in the fire, and the origin of the blaze is under investigation, he added.
