TRABUCO CANYON — A 17-year-old Mission Viejo boy suffered a compound skull fracture and a broken collar bone when his car rolled over on a winding canyon road, the California Highway Patrol reported Friday.
Alexis Semiletow was in critical condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, and his passenger, 17-year-old Matt Anderson, also of Mission Viejo, was treated for minor injuries at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, CHP Officer Bruce Lian said.
Both boys were wearing seat belts when the car went off the road shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday on Live Oak Canyon Road near Canyon Creek Drive. It crashed through a wire fence, rolled over and hit an oak tree, Lian said.
No one has been cited and the accident is being investigated. No alcohol was involved in the accident, he said.
“It looks like that they were just going too fast for road conditions,” Lian said.
