County Players Reach Hardcourt Semifinals

LAGUNA HILLS — Doris Clark of Laguna Beach and Piyachart Hussey of Laguna Hills each won Thursday to reach the semifinals of the 65s singles at the USTA Women’s Senior Hardcourt Tennis Championships at Leisure World.
Clark defeated Grace Bassett of Washington, 6-1, 6-1. Hussey swept Nancy Stout of Bronxville, N.Y., 6-2, 6-1.
In 75s singles, Dodo Cheney of Santa Monica defeated Pat Yeoman of Los Angeles, 6-2, 6-2, and Sheila Evans of Indianapolis defeated Alice Breckenbach of Los Angeles, 6-1, 6-0, to reach the final.
