Playwrights Alliance Plans Award Event

The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights will have a Theatre Arts Community Get-Together at Studio Raid Gallery, 7378 Beverly Blvd., Monday from 7 to 10 p.m.
The group’s first C. Bernard Jackson Award, for what it describes as a significant contribution to new plays and to the local playwriting community, will be presented to Jackson himself, the longtime leader of Inner City Cultural Center. The award is to be presented annually.
The center is now based at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood. Alliance members Luis Alfaro and Eric Trules will perform, and new Alliance programs will be announced.
