PREP ROUNDUP : Woodbridge Beats San Clemente in Tennis

Natalie Exon swept her singles sets to lead Woodbridge to a 13-5 victory over San Clemente in nonleague girls’ tennis match Wednesday at Woodbridge.
Exon, a freshman, won her sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2, and improved to 33-3 this season. Alyssa Artunian also swept in singles, 6-4, 6-4, 6-1, for the Warriors (9-3), ranked eighth in Orange County and 10th in Division I.
In Olympic League boys’ cross-country:
Orange Lutheran 19, Capistrano Valley Christian 44--Brad Peters won in 17:46 to lead Orange Lutheran (3-1) at Irvine Regional Park. Matt Fisher (18:35) and Jeff Miller (18:56) finished fourth and fifth for the Lancers, who also beat Whitney, 20-41, in the double dual meet. Capistrano Valley Christian beat Whitney, 25-30.
In Olympic League girls’ cross-country:
Orange Lutheran 15, Capistrano Valley Christian 42--Laurie Juranek, Kristin Groncy, Mary Joe DeJesus, Meg Ferrell and Katie Peters tied for first in 22:08 for Orange Lutheran at Irvine Regional Park.
