SOUTH-CENTRAL : Which Landmarks Do You Want to Save?
The city’s Cultural Affairs Department has scheduled a cultural arts planning workshop Tuesday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Adaptive Recreation Center, 3916 S. Western Ave.
This is the second workshop to survey residents on which local landmarks are priorities, according to Barbara Goldstein, director of design review and cultural planning for the department.
“We’re trying to find out what are the landmarks in the area and to find out from people what they’d like to see happen there,” said Goldstein.
The department wants community input in preparing a cultural development plan that will recommend which buildings should be preserved as landmarks.
