Dana Hills Field Includes 75 Schools
DANA POINT — More than 2,500 athletes representing 75 Southern California schools will compete Saturday in the Dana Hills Invitational cross-country meet that begins at 8 a.m. on the Dana Hills campus.
The Division I junior/senior girls’ competition features what might be a preview of the Sea View League finals, with Corona del Mar, Orange County’s top-ranked team, facing fourth-ranked Irvine, among others. The Vaqueros recently upset the nation’s second-ranked team, Palos Verdes Peninsula, at the Woodbridge Invitational.
Four of the county’s top 10 girls’ squads--Edison (ranked second), Santa Margarita (third), Canyon (sixth) and Laguna Hills (ninth)--will face one another in Division II.
The boys’ competition features a Division II showdown between Villa Park (ranked fourth), Santa Margarita (sixth) and Laguna Hills (10th).
